Extreme Performance at Beyond Zero Marathon

Beyond Zero Marathon which took place at Nyayo Stadium was heavily attended by participants yesterday. Vincent Kipchumba, the Amsterdam and Vienna City Marathon champion won the men’s 21km race by clocking 1:01:52 . The 29 year old who is currently making preparations for London Marathon in April 26 disclosed it was not easy since Kenya is a level playing field.

Nicholas Kosimbei clocked second at 1:02:26, followed closely by Albert Kangogo 1:02:27.

Womens 21km was won by Lydia Njeri who clocked 1:12:03, seconded by Emily Chebet 1:12:30.

Vincent Yegon and Everline Chirchir won the 10km for men and women 10km respectively, while Caleb Odio and Caroline Wanjira won the men and women 21km wheelchair.

The event was attended by high profile individual, the President Uhuru Kenyatta, Alfred Mutua, Karanja Kibicho and not forgetting the race founder The First Lady.
