FKF president Nick Mwendwa announced Betway as the new sponsors of FKF Cup on Tuesday afternoon. Betway, a betting firm is set to inject 45 million as the agreement deal for 3 years, which will be 15 million annually. The tournament which was previously known as Sportpesa Shield will now be named FKF Betway Cup.
This comes as a boost to the football arena since most teams are struggling financially.This season, 48 teams have registered for the annual competition with the winner set to represent the nation in the Caf Confederation Cup.
Mwendwa urged the small teams to showcase what they can do in this season and more corprates to support sports in the country.
