Kenya Netball Team stranded in South Africa

Kenya women netball team went to South Africa to take part in the 2019 Africa Netball cup last week on Friday.

The government had provided them with tickets and visas but on arrival in Cape Town, they were turned away from the hotel they had booked as there was no payment done.

The players first match was later that day and they played on empty stomachs since the ministry of sports in not picking their calls.

They are currently hosted in a local lodge by a Cameroonian woman who feeds them whenever she can until the government settles the bill.

The team are supposed to leave back to Kenya today but the lodge owner will apparently retain some of the women’s passports until the government pays up.

The team has lost all their matches.

According to Caroll Radule Sports KE when the officials finally reached the Ministry the feedback was “before issuing payments for hotel we need three different quotes to show why a particular hotel was selected.”
